The world of vocal repertoire has a vast array of songs for every voice type, from art song to folk songs, from Bach to Beatles. In this class, we will explore different styles for your voice and we’ll assign you music that will help build not only your voice but your vocal confidence as well. You’ll “perform” for your classmates with accompaniment in a safe and nurturing environment. Jenny and Daniel will advise you and give you tips to build your voice and grow as a singer. This class has been ongoing since 2018, so is recommended for graduates of the 8-week Finding Your True Voice, or for more advanced singers. If you’ve been taking this class, this is your opportunity to register for the next session of it.
Instructors: Jenny Matteucci and Daniel Lockert.
Mondays, 10:00 AM-11:30 AM, September 16-November 11 (eight times over nine weeks; *no class 9/30).
Register for the eight-week course ($80) or attend as a drop-in ($10 cash).
The Festival’s founders envisioned a community of musicians and music lovers; a richly symbiotic atmosphere of mutual learning and shared experience. The Festival Chorus is a vital part of our community of musicians and music lovers; dedicated, skilled amateurs, from around Mendocino County. In 2018 we created the Festival Chamber Chorale, a sixteen voice auditioned ensemble, for singers who want to take choral singing to the next level. And now finally, as part of our emerging vocal music department, we’re excited to offer these classes.
