DESCRIPTION:RESERVE NOWFabulous Fall Fandango\nSunday\, September 24\, 2017\, 1:30 to 4:30 pm\n$125 per person\nJoin us on September 24 from 1:30 to 4:30 in Deborah Whigham’s and Gary Ratway’s renowned private gardens. Taste treats of paella and tapas. Violinist Jeremy Cohen will be joined by Seth Asarnow\, keyboard and bandoneon\, for tangos and a bit of Gypsy jazz in a spectacular garden setting. After the music\, landscape designer extraordinaire Gary Ratway and horticulturist Deborah Whigham (of Digging Dog Nursery fame) will lead a tour of their stunning gardens. \nAll this enjoyment along with the satisfaction of simultaneously supporting the Mendocino Music Festival. \n(Above garden photo courtesy of Pam Penick\, Digging.)\n\n\n1:30 – Gather\n2:30-3:30 – Concert\n3:30-4:30 – Garden tour\nEdible Entertainment by Karina’s Catering\nAs my German mother always said\, “Love goes though the belly”. \nHaving grown up in Europe\, my philosophy towards food reflects an old world sentiment that food is far more than nourishment of the body – it feeds our hearts and souls. It connects us with our memories and our histories and can transport us both physically and spiritually to another time. \nCooking for me is about bringing people together and nurturing them in the most primal of ways. Cooking is far more than a profession or a hobby; it is a passion that infuses everything from the ingredients I select\, to the time and attention I put into menu planning and presentation of the finished product. \nFood also connects us to the Earth\, which is why I strive wherever possible to use local\, wild crafted and sustainable ingredients. I have cultivated relationships with local purveyors to insure that everything I prepare is fresh and life enhancing. \n\nIn the unique home and noted garden of Deborah Whigham and Gary Ratway\nDeborah Whigham and Gary Ratway\, owners of the renowned Digging Dog Nursery\, have offered their uniquely gorgeous home and their stunning private garden to the Festival for this party. The garden was featured (10 pages and the cover) in Martha Stewart Living and many other publications\, including Pacific Horticulture and Gardens Illustrated. Recently it was included as one of 50 gardens in the newly published Garden Conservancy book\, Outstanding American Gardens\, and is the subject of a ten-page spread in the Spring 2018 issue of Garden Design. Gary and Deborah will treat guests to an informative guided tour of the garden\, showing how plants can provide structure\, making for year-round form and beauty.\n\nRESERVE NOW
