The World of Duets, Trios and Small Ensembles (8 times, 1/20-3/9)
For singers who enjoy singing with others but get lost in a big group. This class will introduce you to the small ensemble repertoire. You will be partnered with another singer(s) and learn the skill of singing and holding your part. You will also work on the performance aspect of such singing and learning how to relate to other singers, not just musically but dramatically too. This class is best for more advanced singers with part-singing experience and/or vocal training.
Instructors: Jenny Matteucci and Daniel Lockert.
Mondays, 12:00 PM-1:00 PM, January 20-March 9 (eight weeks).
Register for the eight-week course ($80); no drop-ins.
Registration opens 7:00 PM December 11.
Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination, including at least one booster, is required, and masks must be properly worn at all times while on event premises. Though it might exceed official requirements, this policy is based on current conditions and the results of our most recent audience survey.
In 2017 Jenny Matteucci, who has an extensive background as a performer, choral director, and voice teacher, became the Festival Chorus Master; joined by her husband, Daniel Lockert, a marvelous accompanist and an outstanding language coach. The artistic leadership of this dynamic duo is a wonderful addition to the Festival, and has made possible an ongoing series of courses in various aspects of singing.
