The Mendocino Music Festival relies on, and is inspired by, your direct support. Your gifts make it possible to hire top-notch musicians, keep our skilled office staff, update our website, improve our Tent Concert Hall, all so we can head into another joyous season of music on the edge of the earth. The Festival is unique in the variety of music it presents and in its extraordinary location. We strive to make each season more vibrant, exciting, informative and excellent than the last. Your donations make these achievements possible. We hope that each of you, as you revel in the music, take great satisfaction in knowing that it couldn’t have happened without you.
Mendocino Music Festival is first and foremost a family of music lovers who produce the festival, create the music, and enjoy the performances. Volunteers are at the heart of our production. Over two hundred people serve as door-captains, ushers, and concessions workers. Many more help out at fundraising events, serve on planning committees and the Board of Directors.
Each summer the Mendocino County community hosts over one hundred musicians in residence for up to two weeks and more—these are members of the Festival Orchestra from around California and the nation; members of the Emerging Artists program; and visiting musicians from around the world. Many community members house an orchestra musician every year—some are looking forward to meeting a new musician—some are anticipating the visit of a musician who has become a friend staying with them year after year.
Mendocino Music Festival is dependent on its supporters for continued vitality. Ticket sales cover less than fifty percent of the Festival’s expenses. Join our family of donors who are Underwriters or Sponsors of performances by the Festival Orchestra and Chorus and by talented musicians performing bluegrass, blues, jazz and an exciting variety of genre-bending world music.
Planned gifts are those that require more planning and counsel than many other gifts. The tax benefits of planned giving enable the donor to ensure their assets are used towards their intentions to their full value. Planned gifts can result in immediate income to MMF, or serve to delay a gift for life or other period of time while the donor or others retain income and/or access to the assets used to fund the gift. Funds donated through planned giving may be devoted by the donor to current funding needs and to capital projects and endowments.
