When there is nothing left to do besides have good food and wine with friends, L’apéro is the part of the day when the French pause and convene for a drink over small plates; after work, before a concert or whatever the evening’s activity might be.
For many years owners Tony and Lisa Geer provided “the iconic” Ledford House Dinner. The pandemic made that impossible these past two years, and even now a cozy, crowded dinner seems unwise.
We worked with the Geers to come up with a way to celebrate the season more safely, by using the dining rooms as well as the beautiful outdoor areas. There will be a bountiful buffet, plenty of places to sit if desired, and wonderful wines.
Premium wines generously supplied by Husch Vineyards. $75 per person. Space is limited.
The Ledford House Restaurant is located seven miles South of Mendocino on Highway One in Albion, California. Its blufftop location on the Albion headlands allows panoramic views of the Pacific ocean and breathtaking sunsets. The restaurant reflects the provencal style of Southern France, and accommodates 65 to 90 people in the elegance of two dining rooms where expansive windows allow the Pacific Ocean to become part of the decor. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a casual elegance, both comfortable and sophisticated. The food has a strong Mediterranean influence with subtle drawings on Asian and Latin flavors grounded by a California style. The produce, meat, poultry and fish served come from farms, ranches and fisheries guided by principles of sustainability.
