Beethoven Chamber 1

Tuesday, July 14, 2:30 PM PDT
$15 – $45

Beethoven’s charming, enigmatic, and deeply felt Sonata No. 7 in D Major, Opus 10 No. 3 will be played by Susan Waterfall. The brooding and complex String Trio in C minor No. 3, Op. 9 will feature Terrie Baune (violin), Susan Freier, (viola) and Stephen Harrison (cello). In the late-period Cello Sonata No. 1, Op. 102, Stephen Harrison (cello) and Keisuke Nakagoshi (piano) will take on an emotional and expansive piece. The Quintet in E-flat for Piano and Winds, Op. 16, Beethoven’s only quintet for those instruments, is said to be modeled on Mozart’s. The work, played by Keisuke Nakagoshi (piano), Eric Kritz (clarinet), Tom Nugent (oboe), Carolyn Lockhart (bassoon) and Jesse Clevenger (horn) will bring the afternoon to a thrilling conclusion.
