Zoe Ellis

Zoe Ellis’s dramatic and colorful voice is known to music fans in the Bay Area and beyond. Described by reviewers as “a resourceful and inventive vocalist,” she sang for many years with the Bay Area Funk band, the Mo’Fessionals. Ellis’s credits include live performances with the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, Donald Byrd, Phil Lesh and Friends, SoVoSo, and as the leader of her own quartet, The Zoe Ellis Group. It’s not surprising that she was chosen as Glide Memorial Church’s Director of Music Ministries in November of 2024. She will be backed up by her brother David Ellis on saxophone, and by Janet Maxie Reid on piano.
