Adventures in Art Song (8 times, 3/21-5/16)
Due to the popularity of the German lieder and French mélodie classes, we have decided to expand the class to art songs of many languages. Singing beautiful songs in German, French, Italian, Spanish, and English (British and American), we’ll delve into the poetry and the composers, addressing diction, style and presentation, and collaboration between voice and piano.
Limit 15 participants; may also be audited. Auditors enjoy watching the process without the pressure, learn what it takes to put together a song, and observe each participant progress and improve.

On Zoom and in person, except 3/28, 4/11, 4/25, 5/9 and 5/16 Zoom only. Ends with Monday, May 16, 12:00 PM joint session with Masterclass. The 5/16 joint session is moved to Zoom.
Mask and proof of complete vaccination (including applicable boosters) required for in-person attendance.

In 2017 Jenny Matteucci, who has an extensive background as a performer, choral director, and voice teacher, became the Festival Chorus Master; joined by her husband, Daniel Lockert, a marvelous accompanist and an outstanding language coach. The artistic leadership of this dynamic duo is a wonderful addition to the Festival, and has made possible an ongoing series of courses in various aspects of singing.
