In music, Sostenuto means to sustain. Just as Fedele Bauccio is committed to sustainable food, he contributes to the sustained future of the Festival through our amazing opening gala. He brings the same level of passionate care to both, and the Festival is very grateful to him and to Linda. We are all nurtured by their warm hospitality throughout the evening.

Enjoy a sumptuous seasonal buffet presented at stations throughout the gardens [click to see the menu], prepared and presented in the fantastic indoor and outdoor kitchens of the Bauccio’s Little River home. The evening will feature musical highlights from this summer’s production of Abduction from the Seraglio. As if all this weren’t enough, there will be wine from Frey Vineyards and an infused vodka martini bar with five flavor choices.

Sostenuto’s culinary delights are created by chefs of the Bon Appétit Management Company, and their professional food and service staff. Sostenuto celebrates the Festival’s goals for its sustainable future, and honors the commitment of our hosts, Linda and Fedele Bauccio, to sustainable food. Fedele Bauccio is CEO of Bon Appétit Management Company, the innovative food-service company with over 650 cafés nationwide including eBay, MIT, and the Getty Center. In addition, Bon Appétit runs 12 standalone public restaurants, including four in San Francisco in partnership with celebrity chef Traci Des Jardins.  [Click to read a recent profile of Fedele Bauccio in Forbes]   Bon Appétit Management Company is known for its culinary expertise and for pioneering environmentally sound sourcing policies based on a sustainable model that values small local farmers, humane animal treatment and farm worker welfare.

Sostenuto is one in a series of culinary events that bring people together each year in celebration of music and the vibrant food and beverages of Mendocino; events that are also one of the principal ways the festival raises funds to ensure its long-term sustainability.

$175 per person, limited to 150 guests.
