It’s Showtime: American Musical Theater Techniques (8 times, 10/4-11/22)

For all those who love musical theatre, this is the perfect class for you. Here is your chance to sing everything from songs of the early Golden Age to the musicals of the present day. You will learn about the acting technique called “monologuing” which is essential to creating a character and putting a song across. Music will be assigned to you as well accompaniments provided in order for you to work on your song in class.

On Zoom and in person, except 10/11, 10/25 and 11/8 on Zoom only.
Proof of vaccination and mask required for in-person attendance.
Registration opens 5:00 PM PDT Wednesday, September 22.

In 2017 Jenny Matteucci, who has an extensive background as a performer, choral director, and voice teacher, became the Festival Chorus Master; joined by her husband, Daniel Lockert, a marvelous accompanist and an outstanding language coach. The artistic leadership of this dynamic duo is a wonderful addition to the Festival, and has made possible an ongoing series of courses in various aspects of singing.
